Commercial Litigation
Commercial Litigation:
On occasion, the best solution for a client requires litigation. Increasingly, lenders and borrowers are resorting to courts to resolve their disputes. Although not a collection firm, sometimes CLG will pursue a collection matter for a creditor, or defend a debtor client in a collection action. In certain limited instances, we will engage in lender liability litigation. We maintain close relationships with several litigation boutiques for those cases where complex litigation is required, but we do not shy away from litigation where it is in our clients’ best interest.
Class Action:
We have been involved in several matters regarding consumer class action cases, particularly where bankruptcy issues are intertwined. We offer substantive knowledge and experience is utilizing the class action process to obtain both a favorable result for our client and enforcement of consumer protection measures embedded in the law.
Landlord Representation:
Our representation of landlords in the bankruptcy setting has expanded to occasionally include more general representation of commercial landlords in disputes with tenants. We have represented landlords in preference defense actions, unlawful detainers, receiverships, and other disputes.
